2024 OBX: Day 2

Hello, Bullis parents and community members!

This morning, we were greeted with clear, sunny skies and a slight breeze - the perfect backdrop to our day's adventures!

Please enjoy tonight's update, shared through the eyes of Mari W. '30:

On our second day, we woke up and returned to Janette's Pier. We broke out into three groups, learning about wind and solar energy and squid dissection. After that, we ate delicious sandwiches by the ocean. Then, we visited the gift shop! 

Finally, after a filling lunch, we hopped back onto the bus and headed for the Wright Brothers Memorial for a ranger talk for the inside scoop on the Wright's life! We saw their memorial, and the tour guide told us many interesting facts about the brothers! 

Soon after, we drove to Jockey's Ridge, which is a beautiful National Park and strip of sand dunes! We had the opportunity to run around in the sand with our friends. When we returned back to the hotel, we had some chill time to refresh ourselves.

Then, our dinners were split into two different times, but we all had delicious BBQ food. Finally, after a long, long day, we returned to our hotel to wind down for bed. What a day!

Greetings from Costa Rica! It has been quite a day for our 8th grade students - starting with early morning flights and ending with learning a traditional Costa Rican dance! The trip is off to a great start, and students are enjoying themselves as they settle into San Jose. 2024 Taiwan: Day 1

你好 (Hello)! Welcome to our Taiwan Global Studies Blog, where students on the trip will be writing exciting daily stories about this unforgettable cultural and language immersion trip. I’m Nathan C. '24, a senior, and I’ll be writing the first entry of the blog series. After 20+ hours of travel, we finally made it to Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. On our first full day in Taipei, we familiarized ourselves with our surroundings; we walked around the city and navigated our way through the intricate yet easy-to-understand metro system. Led by our fearless Bullis chaperones and local tour guide James Yen, our first destination was 象山 or Elephant Mountain. 2023 Costa Rica: Day 6 & 7

Greetings from our intrepid explorers! Today, Friday, March 24, is our last travel day in Costa Rica, and we’re packing our bags for home! We will make our way from the Pacific Coast, across the Continental Divide, and back to the Caribbean to our airport.  Our sixth day in Costa Rica was one of the most fun and bittersweet. We had another water-filled day, switching between an outrigger canoe trip with snorkeling and a visit to a beach, then some fun activities in the evening. I assigned a few student volunteers to recount their experiences today, to capture as many memories as we could before we say farewell.
