2023 Germany and Czech Republic: Day 4
Today, our day started with travel from Berlin to Dresden. The scenery on the route was beautiful and we were immediately struck by the difference between the fast city life and the calmer rural life. One thing that definitely surprised us was having to pay to use the bathroom at a rest stop! Once we arrived in Dresden we visited three amazing exhibits. The first, Porzellansammlung , was a showcase of porcelain from around the world. The intricate designs made us think about how each individual piece was unique but can represent a bigger picture of the time period. Next, we visited the Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon , which featured different math and science equipment. One piece that stood out was a brass ruler. While it was created many years ago, it looks almost exactly like the rulers we see and use today, which made us reflect on how aspects of life can evolve over time, but also stay the same.
