2023 Grand Canyon: Day 2
Good morning, 6th Grade families and Bullis community members!
Yesterday, Tuesday, March 21, marked the 2nd day of our Grand Circle adventure. Mrs. Keller, Tommy S., and Vivian generously shared their experiences and reflections on the day. Please enjoy!
Ms. Keller: We awoke this morning to a beautiful snowstorm. While it changed our plans to visit the Grand Canyon, we ended up having quite the adventurous day! First, we headed to Cameron, Arizona where we visited the Trading Post. Students picked out souvenirs and enjoyed looking at the handmade pieces created by residents of the reservation. We then headed to Page, Arizona. Along the way, we were able to stop at the little Colorado River and visit the largest tributary that feeds into the Grand Canyon. Everyone loved the views and were awed by the sights. Our last stop of the day was fun although quite messy! We visited the Toadstool Rocks. Due to the rain, our short hike was a bit muddy. Students had such a great time playing around in the mud. We will be doing some laundry this evening as a result!
Tommy S.: Today on our trip we went to Horseshoe Bend, a massive canyon in Arizona. While there, we hiked on the trails and went to the viewpoint. Next, we went to a hiking trail, but it was raining which made the trails very muddy and slippery. Many people slipped, and it was very crazy! Then, we went back to our hotel and changed before going to dinner. It was a very fun day, and I’m looking forward to our next few days.
Pictures will come later! (Wifi is spotty!)
Update! We received photos. Hope you enjoy!
